Medicare Plans

Medigap, also known as Medicare supplement, is a coverage designed to fill in the gaps in coverage under original Medicare Part A and B only.

These plans are standardized, with 10 different levels of coverage. The 2 most popular plans are Plan F and Plan G. 

Medigap plans will have a monthly premium that you pay in addition to your Medicare Part B premium.

Medicare Advantage plans, also known as Medicare Part C, are private insurance plans offered by insurance companies that have contracted with Medicare. 

These plans are required to offer at least equal benefits to original Medicare A and B. Many plans offer lower copays, than original Medicare and may include extras like dental, vision, hearing and Part D Rx coverage.

Medicare Part D is the part of Medicare that covers outpatient prescription drugs. Under the Part D program insurance companies contract with Medicare to offer prescription coverage to people with Medicare. 

Part D Rx plans can be purchased as a stand alone plan or you can get Part D coverage as part of your Medicare Advantage plan.
